About Marvin Frey
Marvin Frey was born in Portland, Oregon in 1918, one of twelve siblings.

At an early age his musical talent emerged, and in his teens he became an accomplished pianist and played for Crusades in California, Oregon and the Midwest. At age seventeen he wrote his first chorus, “I Have A Jubilee Down In My Heart.” At age 18, he wrote the ever popular,” Kum Ba Yah “(Come By Here).

Several choruses were inspired while he heard sermons from gifted men of God; some requested that he write a chorus to underscore the theme of the sermon. In all, he has written nearly 300 songs.
